HESTON BLUMENTHAL THE PERFECTIONISTS’ CAFÉ RESTAURANT IN HEATHROW TERMINAL 2 BY AFRODITI KRASSA. ISTORIA BESPOKE BROWNSTONE
Located in Heathrow’s terminal two – the Queen’s terminal – and inspired by his TV series ‘In search of Perfection’, Heston Blumenthal sought to bring quintessential British food served with his unique and creative approach.
Designer Afroditi Krassa’s concept for the restaurant was inspired by Heston’s menu itself – Modern British signature dishes that distinguish Great Britain from the rest of Europe. Add to that the timeless elegance that came the era of travel in the 1960’s and 1970’s and Krassa found the sleek, bold colours and line that came to create the aesthetic of the restaurant.
In keeping with the contrasting colours of the 60’s, Krassa chose dark timber, black and white marble, perforated metals and iconic leathers and Formica. Jordan Andrews’ awarding winning Istoria Bespoke Premium Brownstone – further customised for Krassa’s vision to create a combination of widths using both 190mm and 160mm – fit perfectly with this design and we are proud to have formed part of this beautiful feature in Heathrow that went on to win ‘Best designed Independent restaurant’ in the CASUAL DINING SHOW 2015!
