ISTORIA BESPOKE PARQUET AT CURZON CINEMA CANTERBURY DESIGNED BY AFRODITI KRASSA

The Canterbury site for Curzon’s cinema posed a wonderful challenge for Krassa, the venue being a 100-year-old community and dance hall that locals had to fight to keep from being destroyed. As well as honouring the brands style and vision, she wanted to keep the design in keeping with the rich history of the area and the building itself.

She found that she was looking for classic, elegant, and timeless furnishing throughout the building, whilst being a comfortable space to socialise away from home.

In taking a classic and giving it new dimensions, the Istoria Herringbone parquet managed to encapsulate the requirements of the Curzon’s look. Giving the classic Herringbone a longer and wider look, the Istoria Herringbone parquet combined design from past eras with modern style desires. Keeping to a Classic clear matt smoked and brushed look let the natural oak colour speak for itself, adding warmth to the structured looks given by the Herringbone design Krassa chose.
